Chapter One: Introduction

Platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and WhatsApp have democratized information dissemination, providing citizens with immediate access to news, debates, and political discourses. In Kaduna South Local Government Area, digital media is becoming a crucial tool for political awareness, especially among young people. According to Adegboye and Usman (2023), digital platforms enable real-time interactions, fostering political engagement and participation in decision-making processes. Despite its potential, challenges such as misinformation, digital literacy, and accessibility remain.
